The Byrd Park Neighborhood is located South of Downtown Expressway and North of Maymont Park and the James River. This area includes three different lakes; Shields Lake, Swan Lake, and Fountain Lake. The Byrd Park neighborhood also contains the VITA trail. The VITA course is about a mile long consisting of mostly flat loop running.

Pictured Above: Swan Lake, owned by The City of Richmond, is a 12-acre lake with picnic and handicap accessible areas. Although the lake doesn't permit boats, the shoreline is always accessible to anglers. Swan Lake contains largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, yellow perch, and brown bullheads.

Pictured Above: Boat (Fountain) Lake, unlike Shields and Swan Lake is not recommended for fishing but to has many picnic and handicap accessible areas. This lake is most popular in the summer for the peddle boats loved by visitors.

Although this 7-acre lake doesn't permit boats, it allows anglers to access the shoreline. Shields Lake contains largemouth bass, bluegill, green sunfish, yellow perch, and brown bullheads.
